GATE Admit Card Download: Login Details and Common Problems

Go to gate2027.iitm.ac.in, choose the admit card link and enter the details asked. Download the file at the earliest so that you have time to correct any problem.

If the link does not open, try a different browser or device, clear the cache and avoid the peak hours. The organisation often extends the download window.

Details to Check on Your Admit Card

• Your name, roll number, date of birth and category
• Photograph and signature – they should be clear and belong to you
• Exam name, date, shift and reporting time
• Exam centre name and full address
• Instructions and the list of items not allowed inside
• Any space for signature or thumb impression to be filled at the centre

If any detail is wrong or missing, contact the helpline on the admit card at once and keep a screenshot as proof. Do not wait for exam day.

Exam Day Rules and Reporting

Reach early, find your room and keep a buffer for security checks.

Take your printed admit card, an original photo ID and only the items the instructions permit. Phones, watches and bags are usually not allowed inside, and centres seldom keep them safe.

Exam City Slip and Admit Card: The Difference

Do not confuse the two documents. The exam city slip helps you book tickets, while the admit card is the one that lets you sit for the paper.

If You Cannot Download or Lose the Admit Card

Check that you are using the correct registration number and date of birth, exactly as in your form. If the problem continues, write to the helpline email or call the number on the official notice. Take a few printouts once it is downloaded, because one copy may be collected at the centre.

Earlier GATE Notifications

This is the first GATE notification we have on this site. Earlier notices of the same organisation, if any, are added here as soon as we publish them; see all GATE updates.

Exam Day Checklist

• Visit the exam centre a day earlier if it is in an unfamiliar area.
• Keep two printouts and a soft copy; the second printout is often collected at the centre.
• Carry a transparent water bottle and the pen the notice allows, if any.
• Report any mismatch to the helpline shown on the card immediately and save a screenshot.
• Sleep well and eat light the night before.
