CGL: How to Use the Pattern and Syllabus

  • Start with the exam overview above; it tells you the basic rules of the paper in one glance.
  • This page has more than one pattern table, one for each paper or post group. Read the table that matches your own post or paper first.
  • Copy the subject-wise topics into a notebook or sheet and tick each topic as read, revised and tested.

CGL: Step-by-Step Preparation Plan

  1. Read the exam overview and the pattern table carefully and note the points that matter for your paper.
  2. Turn the subject-wise syllabus into a checklist of topics.
  3. Solve previous papers every week and keep a small notebook of the mistakes you made.
  4. Open the official notice once a month, because the board can change the syllabus or the pattern.
